Two ideologies locked in an intractable struggle to prove the other side wrong is no way to run the greatest country on earth. There is no concern for actually fixing the enormous problems that confront our beloved country, because the status quo benefits the dual party kleptocracy that they want to perpetuate. There is an intellectual focus to the center, but it requires intellect, imagination, and the ability to listen and collaborate in order to grasp what is going on. The media will not cover the center, because there are no headlines generated, only the cool logic of reason and good faith. The world does not work the way the media portrays it, nor does it work the way most people think that it does. According to the Washington establishment, the sky is always falling. Henny Penny, Chicken Little, and Lucy Goosey have all agreed that it is so--so it must be so. We say, “So What?” The sky is not falling! The country is not declining. The world is not going to end tomorrow. As Franklin Roosevelt said of a world filled with fear, “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” True then, true now.
Fear is useful for raising money. A people afraid is a people easily manipulated. Anger is a fear response, so those who find themselves angry are easily manipulated as well. Politicians are very cynical when it comes to assessing the voting public, and perhaps rightfully so. People can be fickle and feckless when fear and anger have been aroused. The center is about intellect and imagination, not propaganda and the usual nonsense that passes for political discourse in this country. We are going to ask better questions and demand better answers from those who ask for our votes.
The Voice of the Center is dedicated to providing what the ideologues lack, actual substantive ideas about dealing with issues of governance. Winning elections is very different than harnessing the energies of diverse outlooks in order to accomplish meaningful goals. To that end, we offer this blog site and two others: Voice of the Center. net, and Voice of The Center.org. The .net site is dedicated to providing the conceptual infrastructure needed to grasp the complex issues of today, while the .org site is the membership and forum site. We hope you will join us.
